Must watch: Incredible time-lapse of a Supercell storm
This incredible video of a supercell forming was shot by the group Basehunters Chasing, according to the groups Facebook page.
The video, I'm assuming shot with a GoPro given the FOV, is truly breathtaking, and definitely worth the 2 minutes it takes to watch. Be sure to set the resolution to 1080p and view it in fullscreen!
Supercells are thunderstorms that are identified by the presence of a mesocyclone, which creates a rotating updraft in the centre. Supercells are usually found isolated from other storms and can affect weather up to 32km away.
For some jaw-dropping images of supercells, I highly recommend visiting the website of storm chaser and photographer, Mike Hollingshead.
